it states that a third of the conrtract has to have been payed. i have payed exactly half. 26 weeks out of the 52.

So they will need court permission to take the goods?

I know that a couple of people on the bankruptcy boards managed to keep their HP and include the remaining debt in their DRO. It might be an idea to have a look through the DRO thread on those boards, it's quite long but well worth the time!

This is one of the major differences between BR and DRO; under the former if you have a HP car for mobility reasons, you can continue paying and keep it whilst under the DRO you lose it.

It might be worth you ringing the National Debt Line just to make sure, they're really helpful. This is the number:

    0808 808 4000
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

The sensible thing is for you to stop talking to them. Write to them and see if they make the same threat in writing.

And Bright Hoouse do repossess, so they may go to court.

This is a lie they tell you to try and make you pay. If you have paid half of any HP agreement it has to go to court before they can reposess. Nobody can come into your house without your permission even if you hadn't paid one half of the agreement. They are bluffing, that I can say with certainty. What I can't say, is that they won't try to gain access to your property. Make sure you don't let them in. Write them a letter reminding them that one half of the agreement has been paid and they have no rights without a court order to attempt to reposess. Do not speak to them over the phone, if they call you, just hang straight up. Writing only, especially with these guys.
I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

ok thats great thanks for that. From now on I will blank phone calls and if they come to my door, not answer it. I have had so many problems with bright house using bully tactics to try and get money out of me. i have to pay £3.24 a week and if i am 2 days late they are ringing me at 8am demanding payment.

You would have to have no self respect to take a job ringing people at 8am for £3.24.
