Hi

I've seen a few items in the gallery section of Graham Stewart's website which I think are outstanding and would make a perfect Christmas gift for my mother however I have no idea what sort of price they are and don't want to travel through to Dunblane if they are way out of my price range.

I'm not looking for specifics but I'd be grateful if someone could give me a ball park figure as to what his brooches usually range from. I'm only interested in gold, not silver.

Thanks

As well as our own work, we sell jewellery and a small range of silver produced by other makers/workshops. We also stock ceramics, glass, bronzes, textiles, wood and other craft/gift items.

Phone and ask them or email your post to them?
  • I may give them a ring tomorrow - to be honest I'm a bit embarrassed to phone and ask what their price range is but I guess it's better than a wasted trip - especially in this lovely weather!

Don't be embarrassed. You're a potential customer and they should bend over backwards to help you even if you ask the most absurd questions. You're asking a reasonable question.
Even if we assume that it is a silly question and they judge you for it (neither is true but for arguments sake we will go with it) then they will either never see you again or they will see you again and never know it was you who phoned.

    Don't be embarrassed. ;)

    Hi Scottish Minnie

You will find that Graham and his team are very approachable, I am sure they would be delighted to assist in your enquiry, even if it transpires it is out of your price range. Give him a call.

Graham has a very good reputation, you will find him most helpful

    Regards to all

  • An update - made it to Dunblane today. Didn't buy a brooch as I suspected they were way beyond my price range but I did get a beautiful (and very unusual) pair of gold earrings for my mother. I defy anyone not to find something to suit in Graham's shop. The choice is immense, the shop cosy and inviting and it's a refreshing change to see pieces such as this rather than the mass produced stuff available elsewhere.

My previous jewellers of choice for mum's gifts were Cairncross in Perth but I recently discovered they have been bought over by a high street chain which is a real shame. I'll happily go back to Graham Stewart in the future. I was quite taken by his wooden birds so I may be back sooner rather than later.
