D.R.O. - Mobile Contracts

I wonder if anyone could provide some advice. I was accepted last Friday on a DRO. I currently have an iphone on an o2 contract which is due for renewal in April.
Yesterday my services, all outgoing texts/calls, internet access were all blocked. So I thought maybe my direct debit hadn't come out for some reason so I rang in and paid the bill. An hour later the block was still not lifted. So I rang back and was informed that my account was blocked and will be disconnected this Friday. When I asked why I was informed that as I have a DRO the companies policy is to cancel any contract. I explained that I have no debt whatsovever with o2, have always paid ontime... but they won't budge.
I was advised that they will be disconnecting my service on Friday at 10am and if I don't ring them by then with info of my new network I would lose my number.
I am a dance instructor in the evenings and relay heavily on my phone. My number is precious and the key to my bookings.
I also said that I had paid my months bill and was told that the cannot accept the payment and I will have to contact my bank to claim this back. The whole DRO process and the bailiff attacks I have been getting was stress enough without the potential of loosing my number and future work.
Firstly how do I go about claiming the money back from my halifax (I paid with electron) and am I allowed to get a mobile phone contract?
Most stressed and upset.

I'm sorry about that, did you not get advice before the DRO? My CAB advisor told me that mobile phone contracts would be a problem right back at the start. I'd get a PAYG sim, and get the number transfered, they can do it really quickGetting fit for 2013 - Starting weight 10.1.13 88.1kg

Get a pac ASAP and port over to a pay go sim that will at least make sure you retain your number. Once disconnected you can kiss goodbye to it!0

Try posting in the DRO thread, you may get more help in there

I didnt put my O2 contract into the BR as I wanted to keep it. Anyway I informed O2 this week and they say I cant keep the contract as I have broke my agreement with them. Obviously the contract has been added to the BR.
They did advise me that they would keep the line open for a couple of days and if I wanted to keep the number and stay with them I would have to buy an O2 PAYG sim which is what I have done.
From tomorrow at sometime I will be transferred to O2 PAYG and keep the same number.

Im with 3 and didn't have a problem with keeping my contract at the time and taking out a new one with 3, three months into my DRO. Time to get your PAC code take your money to someone else who'll be happy to take it.0

Hi,
If thats o2 s policy then thats up to them - I am surprised by it though. I wonder how they found out if they are not part of your DRO?
Within a DRO, a mobile (or any other service contract) does not have to be included as a debt so long as the payments are up to date.

I put my o2 bill into my bankruptcy, I was told i had to as to pay them was against the rules once bankrupt. A whole 32 quid! I got a new vodafone contract 1 month before i was discharged, september 2010, no problems no questions, seems to be a lottery as to how you are treated????Bankruptcy and Supporters club... Did you have to buy a new sim card, or just transferred to PAYG?
I may have to do the same (BR last week, OR interview in 20 minutes!), currently have two contracts in my name: O2 and Orange.0
