Hi
Im currently a member of a dwsports gym, i paid 12 months up front previously and now thats nearly run out and they`ve said ive got a few options.
pay £28 monthly by direct debit,
rejoin as a new member and get 1 month free paying with direct debit,
rejoin as a new member pay 12 months upfront for 14months membership.
if you pay by direct debit does the price stay the same forever while u remain a member??
seams strange to have to rejoin to get any type of offer.
i know gym memberships are hardly money saving but you cant do much for 7quid a week

You'd have to ask them that, with Direct Debits, there are two types and few will indicate which type your getting. A variable direct debit would mean that they can raise the price if they feel like it but they would need to give you warning first. However getting out of a payment would not be possible if you'd signed up to 12 months in the first place.
A different type of Direct Debit, a Standing Order means they cannot change the price without asking you first and this would give you more power. However if the contract stated 12 months minimum this could make things difficult.
But having said that, as far as gyms go, few if any will rise the price within your annual contract, most will rise it at the end (for the following year) rather then when your in the middle of a contract. However never say never, ask them if the price would rise throughout the year, then get them to write this down and sign it so should anything happen, you have something to battle them with.0 -
NO they dont stay the same as direct debit mine increased by £3 just before i cancelled it with DW sports so i'd go with pay up front rather than direct debit. It went up to £31.50 per month0

Direct bebit is something they set up and you have no control if they change the price although they do have to tell you first although nothing you can do as your in 12 month contract. The standing order doesnt count as thats not what you have set up its a direct debit they set up with your bank with your consent so they can alter price without much more than fortnights notice and nothing you can do as your in contract, hence i cancelled mine at the end of contract.0
