NTL Nightmare!!!

NTL are driving me nuts!!

Had an issue with them for 2 months. My credit report flashed up that I had been 2 months in arrears them. Puzzled, I called them and then they said it was all a mistake, they would correct the file. They didn't correct the file, and the team leader called me today to say that actually there was no mistake, I had missed 2 payments. I told him this was rubbish, but the issue dates back to my student house 3 years ago so I couldn't remember exactly what I had done.

Then it hit me. We took out NTL on a student contract, not 12 months. Before we left the house in June we cancelled the contract and payed up. Now me thinks that NTL had lost that and continued to bill us. I went travelling that summer and went to pick up the post from the old house in Sept. There was a letter from NTL saying pay up etc, being young I payed it and forgot about it.

This team leader bloke at NTL is telling me that 2 missed payments on a credit report is no problem. I told him that there is a yellow warning on the fornt page under 'credit agreement'. Basically I want it removed. NTL don't have much records of my payments and they can't tell me when they received cancellation. I am right in thinking that if they can't tell me that, and can't show me a copy of our contract (which they can't find), then they must remove the info from the credit file??

Sorry for waflling on. I am trying so hard to be debt free, but I find myself battling against idiots!
