Caustic soda - cheap supplies please

This quest has turned into silly country.

it's necessary because surprise find supplier - The Proper Pound Shop - haven't had any for quite some while and it's needed here.

Alternative source - Boots - smaller quantity, MUCH higher price, so I'm looking for others and getting nowhere.

Read online - Wilkinson's, but all their site ref.s are undergoing maintenance AND there are no. phone no's anywhere, even for me to ring a store, ask about price, ask whereabouts of nearest Branch.

Any help, please?

    Try the Soap Kitchen.

There are probably other soap making sites that sell it. I have bought a small bottle at my local chemist before, but I don't remember how much it cost.
  • Caustic soda - also known as Sodium Hydroxide. Ebay for small amounts right up to 25kg bags. Used by the biodiesel community. Check online for sodium hydroxide or NAOH as there may be a supplier near to you. Good luck. Lancastrian

Thankyou both - yes, had tried NaOH, sod.hyd[all remembered from long ago]but am at a shamefaced blushing loss to explain why I'd not considered ebay... spoke to a Cheshire industrial supplier re: their 25kg bag, but transport +VAT made it v. dear all over again.

If you have a Wilkinson's store near you, they usualy stock it.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Have you any other cheapie shops near you such as Poundstretcher, Saver's or even Superdrug themselves? All of these sell a decent range of cleaning materials as do Wilkinsons, which you've already mentioned.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
