just started dmp and lodger is moving out !!!!

urgh just when i was getting on my feet my lodger announces they are moving out - this means a massive £500 increase in my expenditure until i get someone else in - whats worse is that they are planning to leave at xmas therefore its likely there will be a gap in getting a new tennant.

my question is: as i have just started my dmp will i be able to decrease my payments until i get someone else in and will this affect my already shaky relationship with my creditors (so far only 3 out of 9 have said yes to my plan!)

really stressed out - as always thanks in advance for you time - wouldn't know what to do with out you all
:o

why is it going to mean a £500 increase in expenditure? Surely it won't cost you that much more, it's just going to mean a drop in incomings.

You need to contact whoever's running the DMP and inform them asap, they may be able to decrease the payments if your income situation has changed.

Also, start advertising for a new lodger! You've got two months to work on it, I don't know what your area is like but you should be able to find someone in that space of time....
  • the £500 represents the amount i will have to cover in rent/ctax and all bills when my lodger moves out if i can't get anyone in ,,,,,

I will contact CCCS to see what they say

Sorry, do you mean you have a housemate who's moving out and that you have the lease to a rented house? A lodger is generally someone who moves in with you when you own your own place. If you're renting the accomodation, that's a different kettle of fish entirely!

If you are both renting the house together and you think that you won't be able to fill the room, then you might need to consider moving yourself. Is that an option?
