I know what you mean - I personally wouldn't pay more but I think generally speaking £10 is a fair price for a novelty toy like this. Dave has been quite hyped up in the media and early on was tipped by some as one of THE toys of Christmas 2010, so I'm surprised that you can get it at all, let alone for less than half the RRP!0
