I've had a bad morning..thanks for the thing about the :)....this thread is essential for me right now..

Alas after getting tobacco I was running around like a snail on speed so like the nurses conned me into having a lie down so didn't get out to Mr S till about 11 but I got everything bar chopped tomatoes (which I don't have room for) and UHT milk and it came to less than £8...:D....considering Mr A doesn't have curry sauce for 9p jaanymore this might be a semi regular foray. It's not much further away...Only snag is the hill is steeper on the bike going there (but maybe that's better than fully laden panniers and a slight incline coming back?)

So yeah...just still in matchstick mode and didn't leave heaters on last night so now frozen....Flapjack machine has a one track mind - sultana when I want bakewell :P and I posted my New Year card to Governor P last night (as in SP in A) and the stupid postwoman overcharged me (it would have been £2.50 worse if I hadn't stood my ground though)...

Hope everyone is well..sometimes I'm up as early as 5 - it has a name - burning the candle at both ends LOL

  • Morning all, hope everyone is well and keeping warm. Well, after paying the plumber a monstrous amount of money yesterday for my bathroom, right after he left my kitchen tap broke! Mr Smith has had a look and I need new ones, so will need to buy those later when he comes round after work. I've been to the recycling today, picked up a parcel from the post office (only to get home and find that the postman had tried to deliver another one while I was out so I need another trip back to the sorting office), and got a little bit of shopping for a nice roast tonight. I'm developing a stinky cold, I'm listening to some very loud Nirvana, and I really should go and do the washing up. I've got a turkey stew thing in the oven (turkey was reduced :)) for work lunches tomorrow and Friday. And whilst rummaging in my wardrobe for a hat, I found a pair of boots that I bought ages ago and have never worn :)

Back to work tomorrow, hopefully the snow will hold off, as, even though I live within walking distance of work, I'm not very steady on my feet and am terrified of going base over apex and breaking limbs. Fingers crossed :)

Have a good day everyone :)

Mrs Smith Best home remedies for a cold I know (hope you don't mind me giving unsolicited advice) are eucalytus oil (it's cheaper than the branded version) and lavender (all over your face basically) - and a tonne of cheap orange juice (not squash) and you should be fine in a few days...

Really needed to get my AN form done today. I think it'll have to wait though cos am so tired I've missed my nap though had a nice wee walk to Mr M for comfort carbs (£5 whoopsie spend)...Praying veg box comes tomorrow. :j and stuff and also got reduced haddock that I put in the freezer and a reduced (£1.24) pizza :) which'll be fab for tea tonight...

Hope everyone is well....someone has just texted me - hope it's not Ma...now I just want to chill and veg :)

    • Not go out at lunch time
    • Knit more of mum's hot water bottle cover - with free wool :) and hot water bottle is a mini/novelty one from the pound shop

catmiaow - I have been putting off cleaning the oven as long as I can remember :o Let me know if you've found a super fast/efficient way of doing it, or if I just have to get my scrubs on and go for it!

Determined - Oooh, what's your plan for all that £££ you will save on not using the car this week??

Other than leaving the oven cleaner on for 30 mins and using a tooth brush on tricky areas, no tips sorry :) x
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
