i wrked nights for a while when i was younger and I do remember it always being a bit "what do I fancy" .

I used to go for ( a lot of !) Eggs, bacon, boiled eggs, beans on toast, cheese toasties as these felt tlike the sort of foods you would have breakfast lunch or teA/ dinner
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • I do quite a lot of night shifts. My advice is eat little and often, if your work pattern allows, as blood sugar crashes make you feel even more tired. Something warm is comforting. Try low GI, slow release foods like porridge, lentil/vegetable soup, beans on toast.

The worst part of the night is usually 3-5 am. Don't be tempted to drink loads of coffee though, because then you won't sleep when you get home.

I used to think that I'd stay up all day after my last night, then go to bed early to get back into a normal pattern, but it doesn't work. I always end up flaking out halfway through the afternoon and waking up at bedtime! Try having a few hours nap straight after work and then getting up for the afternoon/evening. Don't expect to be too productive though!
