Internet job agencies

Which are the best engineering job agencies and do they actually work?

I have registered on total jobs, oilcareers, oiland gascareers, justengineers and theladders, as well as registering on individual companies, e.g. BAE Systems

I get loads of "automated e-mails" from total jobs, but have yet to hear from an actual person.

Has anyone had success with agencies such as these?

I've been using the likes of Monster, Jobserve, Jobsite and some specialist Telecoms agencies for years, and never got a job from any of them.

I am in IT - use Jobserve all the time - all my work over the last 5 years has come from there ....

Totaljobs is not an agency - its just a website advertising vacancies.

A lot of agencies don't respond much to internet apps I have noticed

Go and visit physical agencies and register with them - then call them often and badger them - otherwise they don't do much
