The Woodland Trust has launched a free advent calendar on their nature detectives website for kids and families:

It's got 24 festive activities, one behind each door and there are some great ideas for kids in the run up to the big day - recipes, how to make hand-made decorations, colouring sheets etc (not that I've peeked ahead
)
They've also put together a free Christmas survival kit for parents to print and stick on your fridge. www.naturedetectives.org.uk/ideas/christmas
It's got the last postage dates which I always forget! Plus ideas to keep the kids occupied and out of your hair when you're busy last-minute shopping and cooking
