Ask the Pensions Minister about the future of pensions

Women born on 5 May 1953 will get their pension on 6 July 2016. Women born on 5 May 1954 get theirs on 5 May 2020. They will live to the same average age and have paid the same amount in contributions. No other age group will have such a sharp rise in pensionable age. I would like ask Mr Webb how is this fair? It might be just figures to him but it really matters to the women whose pensions are being postponed by almost a further 2 years (in addition to a previous 4 year postponement).
How many times can one person set up an account and make the same post? Doesn't the site log IP addressses?0 -

Yes Mr Webb. Exactly how is it fair? I too have had the standard reply which is just not good enough. I have personally written to every MP and have had the same reply from more than one of them so this is obviously the pre planned response which frankly is just not good enough. What do you intend to do about the anomaly that some women, however poorly paid, are now almost £10,000 worse off? How can it possibly be fair that there is over a three year difference in pension age for women born only a year and a day apart? I have also written to the Dept for Pensions and have asked for answers. I am still waiting.....
Perhaps the question Martin should ask Mr Webb is why are they not listening and making these changes fairer? Perhaps they should stop rushing and do more consulting and listening, maybe if they had done that with the tuition fees they would not have had riots on the streets of Britain. They are certainly NOT taking the people with them on many of these changes, this is pure folly.0 -

The changes seem quite fair in that everyone is taking a share. Should the Govt spread the load or just listen to NIMBYs.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The same points have been repeated in similar fashion many times but I can assure wotsthat, that I only have one account and am not a persistent spammer. Perhaps it is a measure of the depth of anger that this has caused many women. Something that dunstonh will obviously never understand.
However, for those women who may be interested, there is hopefully a petition to be launched shortly on the financial mail womens forum website. See the article entitled "FMWF & Financial Mail readers’ growing anger over ‘unfair’ pension age increase for women"
Make sure you also read some of the older articles in the pension section because there are a few on this subject.
If any women receive a standard reply from their MPs, write to them again or make an appointment to see them and insist that they refer this to the pensions minister. I personally know of several women whose MPs have done this so Mr Webb cannot be unaware of the outrage this has caused. What are you going to do about it Mr Webb?

Judging by a persistant troll and an even more persistant spammer who repeatedly get banned and just sign up using another name on other boards, I guess the answer is no0

JW19, if it helps I strongly support fair pension age increases for women. So I disagree with you. Pension age for women should be increased as rapidly as can reasonably be done so that expected years in retirement for men and women are the same.
What's outrageous is that the gender with longer life expectancy is complaining about a move towards greater equality in retirement age. Shows some women up as not wanting fairness or equality but "keep me better off than the men".
I also support equality in pay, including for defined benefit pension scheme contributions and payouts.0 -

It even shows some women up as wanting fairness or equality but still wanting "keep me better off than the men".

Financial Mail panders for that type of person though. They go with whatever their readership wants. Not whether its the right thing or not.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
