plug -fibre optic tree

Can anyone help...My mothers fibre optic christmas tree has gone kaput !! its the plug as my brother has tested it off a neighbours who's works...can you buy these AC adaptors on their own anywhere .........its almost like a round plug you would put into a laptop.
we are in belfast area (east )

    You can get those adapters plenty of places. For advice, head itno Maplins at Connswater. You can also get multi-function adapters, possibly in argos. You just need the old one to get the voltage and polarity. If you're confident of this then do it yourself, if nervous then take it to Maplins or somewhere similar

    Does this make any sense to anyone ? have been googling all morning hoping i could get one online.....

    Does the adaptor say if the output is AC or DC? Sometimes it'll show either a flat or dotted line for DC and a sine wave symbol for AC, or else simply 12V DC output in writing

    it says AC ADAPTOR ON THE PLUG.........if that one in argos would be the right out i will try and reserve at argos connswater and get on way home from work .......?

    It's the output that's important, you need it. Most are DC, plus Argos have a good returns policy so you can get a refund if necessary

    Got the adaptor from Argos and it lit up for 10 mins and then blew the adaptor, so its a fault other than the adaptor , but thanks (bigcammy) anyway.............
    will just buy another Fibre optic tree for her....:rotfl:
