ive cooked currys and stews mainly in mine. they are great as you can use cheaper cuts of meat and they become so tender they are delicious! i believe you can do whole chickens and baked potatoes in them but ive never tried! anything you can cook in a pan or oven you should be able to do in a slow cooker and there are loads of recipies online or in books in the works for example to inspire you!Sealed Pot Member 1269 VSP... I would just like to say to all those Slow Cooker Virgins - check out the new Schwartz slow cooker mixes they have recently bought out. We have tried the curry and the beef caserole one and really enjoyed them! There are only 4 but it gets you started!!!!

I've never done baked potatoes but I have done whole chickens and large joints. My SC is a huge one, and happyily takes a big bird! Falls apart as it comes out tho Donna Donna

i bought my slow cooker a few months back thanks to this forum, i put a joint of pork, beef or lamb in at least once a week, cook on low for about 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours and it comes out amazingly. i could never use a cooker and roast a joint anymore.Top wins - £10,000 lottery/daily mirror, £5000 asda vouchers, £1000 washing machine, 2 week canaries cruise, VIP trip to the olympics, 46" 3D TV, personal chef, kitchen aid mixer, £1000 tesco vouchers - latest prize £10,000 road trip with kit Kat0

i never add water, i just put some mustard on it and way it goes, about 8 hours on low, 4-5 on high. try adding different stuff, i add syrup and mustard to pork, sometimes apples and with lamb i throw in some redcurrant sauce. yummyTop wins - £10,000 lottery/daily mirror, £5000 asda vouchers, £1000 washing machine, 2 week canaries cruise, VIP trip to the olympics, 46" 3D TV, personal chef, kitchen aid mixer, £1000 tesco vouchers - latest prize £10,000 road trip with kit Kat0
