Advice on part-time job offer

I've just been offered a job for 2 days a week (hours and days to suit myself) which could expand into full time flexible hours in the new year.
Having been at home caring for 15 yrs I'm really excited about this but got a couple of questions I could use some help with:

The boss doesn't employ anyone directly, all the workers are self employed so I would have to do the same and have no idea where to start. I have looked at business link but it doesn't help much, I've no idea whether I need a new bank account etc. I have googled a bit but it's not really much clearer. Would really help if someone in the same situation could advise.

I am currently main carer for disabled partner and son, but the flexible days/hours mean I can easily manage the job, but I'm unsure what effect being self-employed will have on our housing benefit - I realise I will probably lose my Carer's Allowance but not sure how HB works with self-employment.

You may not need a seperate bank account although its a good idea to.

Your HB will be affected as profit is counted as income and going on what you're saying, you aren't going to have that many deductable expenses.
