So i decided to get my head out of the sand and take control of my finances and my support worker decided to put me in touch with a dept advice service thats helping me sort out my dept and we decided the best thing i can do is apply for a DRO and i 100% agree with them because after my out goings and bills ect i have £20 a month but they havent put the dro apply in yet and i asked the woman at the dept advice place if i was able to take out a budgeting loan that gets repaid by taking a small amount of money off my income support and she said i wouldnt be allowed to.
So my question is has anyone has the same problem as me and am i really allowed to apply for a budgeting loan.

P.s the reason for the wanted loan is for a new bed as mine is now basicly just a mattress.

Thanks alot :)

    Hi

Probably best to post your question on here for the most experienced advice- Debt Relief Orders - Information & help, however my understanding is that once you know you are planning on any form of insolvency you should not take out any more credit.

However once your DRO has gone through then hopefully your budget should be sufficent to save for any large items such as this. Alternatively have you considered looking on your local freecycle/freegle site for a bed base to put the mattress you have on.

Thanks i just posted the question in the place you said. Going back to saving up i really dont have anything left over after everything is paid for so saving up is kinda out the question for me at the moment.

Why not try freecycle if you have a group in your area for the bed base? I know it would be 2nd hand but would help you out for a little while until you can save up the money for a brand new one.
