PS3 Console - anybody seen any offers?

Looking for any offers on PS3 consoles. Not really bothered about bundles but would be nice

Cheapest I can find is about £220.

If anybody else see's one cheaper - let me know

Sainsburys had the console only in store for £199.00 cheapest I've seen so far.

Incidentally, where have you seen PS3s for £220.

As far as I'm aware unless you know someone from Tesco you might be able to get one with a staff reduction to be able get it for this price. The staff reduction would bring it down from about £245 to £220 apparently.

First post for me, I ordered a ps3 the other day, I spent hours looking for the best deal and my conclusion is this. Firstly, you have to take into account what gigabyte memory you want, the 120 gb is the lowest, and the 320 gb is the highest, however, seeing as the price difference between the 2 is like £50 if you just buy console you have to judge whether or not that is worth it. Also, 3 years cover is another £50 for any type i think, depends where you buy it from.
The best 2 deals I found involve getting free games with it, then you can either sell the extra games, or what i'm going to do is try and trade the unopened game for one I want.

HMV website is very good, probably the best site. make sure you always check the special offers at the bottom of the page as they give you free stuff, this feature is not offered by other sites anywhere near to the extent HMV does it.

are you looking for brand spanking new or would you accept preowned cause lots of places like game and gamstation do them preowned and they are cheaper

Correct me if I'm wrong, I think Cex is best place for trading in games. Appears to be anyway.

I'm not sure, I've never traded in a game before. I was thinking I'd be able to go into Game, say to them that I got this with a box set, and could I trade it for Assasins Creed Brotherhood, and if I had to pay them, max £10

Not sure how much you'd get for Assassins Creed Brotherhood though do know that the trade in value for Gran Turismo 5 - Collectors Edition on PS3 is £41.

You may not get this much for Assassins Creed Brotherhood but would be worth finding out what the trade in value is all the same.

Most gamers do tend to recommend Cex for trade ins.

A quick heads up but I phoned my local Sainsburys (White Rose, Leeds) on Friday and they said the £199 was still on. I asked him when it was due to finish and he said until further notice.

Surely that can't be right babbelquack as it was only extended to 2nd December.

They may just be saying that as loads of people were contacting Sainsbury’s about this deal and I’m sure they’re getting fed up with having so many calls about this offer.

There were a couple of spammers on the consoles thread claiming this offer was still on when it wasn’t, this may have been one of the reasons Sainsbury’s have been getting so many calls about this offer.
