compensation for company car

can anyone give some advice please, my partner went back to work for a previous employer, there was a lot of bad feeling from his line manager, anyway he has been there three months when he was called to office and given one months notice with immediate effect, they said the terms and conditions of his contract would be fulfilled however he was not required to work the month. three days later they called asking for his company car to be returned, he called acas and they said he would have to be compensated for this as its in his contract, my partner informed them about this and then recieved a call from a friend at the company saying they are going to pay him for it. the problem is we think they will offer as little as possible and we dont know what he should be asking for, we know it costs the company £95 a week to hire the car, but the fuel is on top of that, any help greatly appreciated:

Have you asked ACAS opinion again? Was the company car owned by your partner or the company he worked for? Are they buying it back off him even though its theirs - or have I totally misunderstood?!!Weight Loss - 102lb0

the company hires the vehichle from another company, they must pay the compensation to my partner for the loss of the use of a company car"Don't go where the path may lead,go where there is no path and leave a trail"Anthony Robbins0

Ok that explains it! So they have to pay compensation for the loss of the car just for the notice period?Weight Loss - 102lb0
