What would you do?

I won tickets for the Good Food Show from the Farming Monthly National - there were 50 sets up for grabs. I received this email on 23rd November and the show started the next day, 24th!:

Hi Ruth.
It is with great pleasure that I can inform you that you are one of the
lucky winners in our BBC Good Food Show Ticket Competition.
Congratulations from all of us here at Farming Monthly National.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for reading the magazine and ask you if there is anything that you would like to see us do better on? Items that we don't cover that you think we should? Features that would be of interest to you? If you have any suggestions then please feel free to let us know - we always strive to do better.

Your tickets have already been dispatched so look out for the post man!

Anyway, thank you for entering the competition - remember, we now run competitions every month so don't forget to check the website, the digital edition and the printed magazine for the next opportunity. There may be different competitions

The problem is that I have not received any tickets and the show is now over. Would you write and complain or just write it off as a bad win? I am disappointed because I really wanted to go to the Food Show and funds are tight at the moment and I had entered loads of comps and this was the only one I won!

Any help gratefully received!

Ru x

  • I would also let them know. It's not unusual for competitions to let you know very late on (ie day before) if it's an event prize...but you'd expect to have the tickets in time!!
  • I won this and received email on Tuesday and the tickets were waiting for me when I got home from work on the Wednesday evening.... they did send me the complimentary tickets for a recording session but they were for the Wednesday lunch so was too late for them!

I would contact them and just let them know.... maybe as a result of the weather! We didn;t get any post at all yesterday in our area.....

Good luck with it and hopefully they may send you a little something as compensation :D
