Why not get a solar mobile charger?

is there any way of getting rid of chargers ethically (recycling them etc) or giving them to someone who's lost theirs? I've got a couple of motorola ones and quite a few nokia ones knocking about taking up space, new chargers cost about 20 and prob quite a lot to the environment to make new ones too. incidentally i tried to refuse a mobile upgrade earlier this yr on that principle but they sent me a new one anyway which they refused to accept back in post

Ebay? Freecycle? Or try one of the charities that take old mobile phones and see if they want them.

    Hi Fred Bear,

I know this is off topic as such but do you have the manual for your PM230? I've misplaced mine and want to setup it up again.

    thanks

We use the phones USB charger in the computer when we're sat here even at work also use the xbox if you're on it :)

I figure this is more benifical environmentally as we're already using the comp/xbox and unplug the USB charger everytime.

I have used the normal charger but, we always unplug and don't leave it plugged-in, unattended when not in use due to fire risk ...etc.

I found this one works accurately all the way down to 1 watt http://www.homeenergysaving.co.uk/plugin-electricity-consumption-monitor.html

I have exactly this model. Maplins sell it for £9.99 instead of £17.95

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=38343

The one disadvantage of this model is that it has no battery back-up, unlike the £6.99 model from Aldi/Lidl.

Thus you have to read the meter while the meter is still plugged in - which can sometimes be awkward e.g. plug hidden behind appliance.

Also once I was monitoring fridge consumption over a week and a momentary power cut caused it to reset.
