A question - does it count as saving money purely because you don't spend something.
For example, if I pick up a magazine but decide not to buy it can it be included as money saved?
Or does it only work if you do buy something but it's cheaper than it normally is?
How's about if I normally buy tea and toast on a tuesday but decide not to?:undecided0 -

I'm doing a "Practice run" for the next two days to see if I can save £20 in 2 days. If I do I'll be well chuffed and it will go towards buying crafty stuff to make handmade xmas presents from the kids.

Congrats on the baby Nicki, and can you put me down for £5 please. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

I think most of us wouldn't count the magazine example, but woud could a discount off the usual price of something we always buy.
Personally my rule of thumb is the challenge is called 'Make £10' not 'Decide not to spend £10', or 'Save £10' so I only count extra money I earn. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
