Hi guys,
Apologise if this is in the wrong forum.
I'm having a little bother getting the point of money saving across at home, so I've decided to write up a list on the PC and print it off and hang it in the kitchen for all the see.
The idea's I've got so far are;
Convert to energy saving light bulbs (already done half the house).
The whole only boil enough water for one cup of tea thing.
Turn down the washing machine to 30 degrees.
Turn off tv, hi-fi, dvd player etc at the wall, not to be left on stand-by.
If a new appliance is needed, then make it an energy saving one.
Can anyone suggest any others?
Thanks in advance.

use pan lids at all times, this means things cook quicker and use less energy:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

If you're using the oven, try to fill the shelves & cook more than one thing at a time. No solitary jacket potatoes!0

make sure your loft is lagged, you can even use newspapers to do this.

Use a steamer to cook veggies, you can cook 4 veggies in a double steamer or two veggies and a steamed pudding.
Use a pressure cooker for stews etc......
If you have econ 7 get a time switch and usewasher/ dishwasher at night on cheap rate electricity.
Keep room doors closed to keep heat in.
Draw curtains as soon as it starts to get dark. Make sure curtains do not cover radiators and that you have no large bits of furniture in front of rads.... a settee will absorb all the heat from a radiator..... .put insulation behind rads if they are on an outisde wall using cardboard and tin foil. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Use a slow cooker for soups and stews - it only uses the energy of a light bulb - makes even the cheapest meat really tender!"This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA
