Pardon my ignorance is this wireless modem for cable users or telephone line users.

    Thanks

Cable. It's not a wireless modem, it's a wireless router.

The wireless router can be used with either cable or ADSL (phone line), only requirement is that the modem needs to have a network cable output, not just USB.

had them collected yesterday, they wouldn't accept parents ID and needed the card used to pay to collect, but they said they could pay for it themselves, thought itmay have been a ploy to charge the other price that they seem to sell them at i.e. £19.95 but they honoured the original price. Have to wait a week to get them delivered by hand now but I'm in no rush for that price.

UPDATED: Ok, I took the plunge and ordered one, setup was a doddle, pretty much just plugged it in and all working fine. Prob, best to put a password on it so everyone with wireless doesn't use your connectionI am very happy with this item, thanks to the MSE who found this, very grateful. I also got the USB, PCMCIA card for laptop and PCI card for desktop and all work fine, again easy to setup. >OLD Does anyone have one, I can't seem to find any info/reviews on this item at all. Is it aby good/reliable? Thanks
Note: Its 54 speed, so excellent for normal surfing etc, but if your thinking off streaming videos on-line using this card think again, as I found out, it was too slow to keep up, although from reviews of faster wireless router, most people have said the faster ones are not that much better, I could be wrong.

gave up on mine, the supplied software for the PCMCIA card just starts arguing with the inbuilt Windows wireless etup and every minute or so the connection drops and reconnects as they fight over which should 'control' the connection. No way to just install the driver without their "Wireless Monitor" software coming along for the ride, uninstall removes it all including the driver

You can disable the Windows wireless management if you want.

even with windows WZC disabled, poor signal quality even over 12 ft, connection up and down, even refreshing the AP list brought the connection down each time, back it goes and back to the Linksys reliability
