... so far, OH is asleep (just got in from work), so I'v left him a note asking him to do his side when he gets up (I'm going to Job Centre about my JSA)!!

I know you'll probably say get rid of charity payments, sky, screen select but we don't actually go out very much (twice since June) and they are our entertainment. I would feel guilty if I cancelled payments to the charities

Do you know the interst rates on the cards???
Also you should cancel the rspca??
what is cpl, iwc???????????0 -
You pay £22 a month for Sky AND you subscribe to Screen Select at an extra £15 a month?
Might be an idea to get shot of them both and buy a freeview box for a one off payment of £20.
You'll not miss Sky.
Also, the likes of TalkTalk and NTL/Telewest do packages now where you get Broadband and a landline for about £30 a month including loads of free calls. That might save you an extra tenner a month...0 -
why is there rent and mortgage ...is it a shared ownership or what?
i cant see anything for food, any travel, TV license, any life insurance or contents and building insurance? (for one off or annual expenses divide by 12 and add them to the budget).0 -
Hi and welcome. According to may calculations you have £9.02 to spend on food or any thing else. If you get rid of your entertainment packages, this will rise to about £17. You will need to find work for about £100 per week to live. I have assumed a 5% payoff of the co op and lloyds an next debts. When you do get work, pay off your most expensive debts first.
Good luck, the figures are as follows.
income weekly monthly
self 0.00
partner 220.00
total 220.00 0.00 divided by 4.33
£-
£220.00 total weekly income
spend weekly monthly
rent/mortgage 299.08
council tax 107.00
elec 52.00
gas 31.00
water 31.00
secured loans
TV licence 11.37

specsaver 10.00
mobile 30.49
screen select 14.99

total 0.00 914.23 divided by 4.33

£210.98 total weekly spend
Start= income - spend = £9.02 per week0 -
My Income = 0
OH Income = 220.00 p/w (not including overtime)
Outgoingsp/m = 49.49
Specsavers - 10.00
RSPCA - 3.00 - lose this. Don't feel guilty, you are in debt and you need to do everything for you right now. When you are out of debt, give £50 if you like!
CPL - 3.00 (what is this?)
IWC - 3.00 (what is this?)
Mobile phone - 30.49 (obviously changes slightly every month!)(are you on the cheapest deal, can you get bolt ons to save on minutes or texts etc)
Joint Outgoings p/m = 610.23
Screen Select - 14.99 (lose this and keep signing up for free deals - see freebies board. You get the DVDs but for free and often with freebies on top).
Water - 31.00
Council tax - 107.00
BT - 15.00
Rent - 201.90
Mortgage - 97.18 (sorry why do you have rent and mortgage?)
Gas - 31.00 (is this the cheapest provider)
Electric - 52.00 (again is this the cheapest provider)
Sky - 22.00 (can you negotiate a cheaper deal or better still get freeview).
TV licence - 11.37
Wanadoo - 17.00 (is this the cheapest deal?)
Pet ins - 9.79 (do you need this? have you used it in the past 12 months? if so is this the cheapest deal?)

Can I ask why you are paying 78.12 to pipex and also wannadoo at 17.
You can get tesco broadband ( value) for 13.97 but I believe there are cheaper about too. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Do you live together or seperately?
Also, check https://www.entitledto.co.uk to see if you can get help with your rent/council tax. Is your OH over 25? If so, he might get some WTC.
Like the others have said, cancel Sky. Chances are, if you ring them to cancel they will give you an offer, such as half price for 3 months etc etc. Cancel the screen select as well - the money from that will pay off your necklace after just over 2 months, then you can put it towards another debt.
You've put down no income for you, but if you're getting JSA< surely you should be getting around £56 a week?
Next thing is to obviously cut up your credit cards or stick them in a bowl of water in the freezer! Don't use them again as you'll just be getting yourself into an even bigger hole. Same with the catalogues - don't order anything else, for the same reason. Cancel the charities as well - for the time being, charity starts at home - YOUR home! When you're rich and famous, you can donate as much as you like, until then, every penny counts.
Good luck.BCSC # 9 and proud! :beer:0 -
Thanks guys
ICW is the International Wildlife Coalition
CPL is the Cat Protection League
Pipex is a long story so I'll try and keep it short, they sent me a threatening letter in August saying I hadn't paid - I hadn't received an invoice! I said I wouldn't pay until I had the invoice. After many phone calls on my part and not much bar threatening letters on theirs, I told them to cancel my account - it has taken them nearly 3 months!!!
Wanadoo is because we didn't know Pipex did internet - they seem to be cheaper than BT (how I now have my phone line with), time will tell if this is the case - if not, I will be looking into moving over to BT, or as someone else suggested, Tescos, I'll look into that one further.
It's the cheapest deal for me, a lot of my friends only have mobiles and the deal I'm on allows me to call them without incurring astronomical bills (I used to get bills for about £70). I could always get them to call me but they are probably in a worse state financially than I am!!
There is a reason for Screen Select, but it not strictly ligitimate!!!!
Sky, can you get Sky Sports and all the movie channels on freeview?? This is their half price deal that's on at the moment (the area we are in does not get NTL/Telewest etc)
Gas/Electric - I'm not sure on this one, this has just gone up coz they say we have used more than they estimated.
Pet ins - yes, this is the best deal, it's for two cats, after losing my previous cat (without insurance) to cancer, I figured that it was better in the long run as it cost me a fortune and I didn't even have my cat at the end of it.
C/C apr, I'll have to check my files for that one!
Rent/Mortgage - yes, it's shared ownership!
Buildings/Contents insurance - included in Rent/Mortgage
No Life Assurance
We tend to use whatever is left for food!
We will be tackling the biggest debts first
I have been accepted for JSA, so that's a further £57.45 per week (bad news is that I'll have another 2 weeks before I get any - the good news is that it will be doubled as I've had nothing for the two weeks just gone)0
