Capital one help!!!

I got a CC when I was 19 (2000), used it, paid (some of) it then moved and didnt tell them......(I know I know) Anyway since then ive had more debt and my "lightbulb moment" in dec '05, being that worried about all my other debts I forgot about capital one (and I really did otherwise it would have been included in my administration order and I wouldnt be here now)

So cap 1 have wrote to me telling me my debt has been sold to lowell so I now owe them £529.12 my point is I only had a £200 limit, obviously the rest is charges but would I be out of this world cheeky to try claim these back??

TIA

    No - not imho!

    Illegal charges are illegal charges.

Yes a bit naughty not letting on you've moved, but why keep lumping charges onto an account where there' s no activity. It's just moneymaking for the financial institutions.

    Go get them back!

Normally, I would reccomend claiming back charges wherever, but I agree with you - in this case it may be a bit cheeky.
But don't despair - you could try offering a reduced amount, in FULL and FINAL settlement to the DCA - there is information, and template letters, on the National Debtline link at the top of the page.
