Consent to Let

I got a fixed rate of 6.19% for 10 years with Northern Rock just before they went under in 2007.

I am thinking about letting my property out and renting a new one myself but I have been told I need consent to let by a friend.

Now my mortgage has been transferred to NRAM I am unable to find out the costs and implications of getting consent to let from them on their web site which is terrible.

I wondered if anyone has got consent to let from NRAM recently and what the process involved I am not even sure if there is a fee or implication but would like to know.

  • Most add approx 1% on to your rate for letting the property

Thanks to Alexander Bell we have a device named the telephone which enables people to communicate. Try it. As then you wouldn't have to rely on poorly designed websites.

I have a permission to let on my property. They didn't add anything onto the mortgage. You just need to ask, probably in writing, but make the initial phone call - I believe most companies will say yes.

No addition to my mortgage either, costs £95 a year though to the mortgage company. Just make sure you can make back in rent your mortgage.
Also all the LL things you need, stafety testing, etc.... xx

I was wondering if you did apply for consent to let with NRAM? Did you experience any issues?

    Thanks.

Best to start a new thread with your own questions. As the criteria could have changed during the past 4 months. Also individual circumstances are different.
