Sales!

As Christmas is on a Saturday this year, do you think it will be worth going out on the Sunday shopping? I want to know because I try to get to Lush for their sale.

I think most stores will still have Boxing day sales, there are rumours going around about Next waiting until the monday due to opening so early (like 4am or other stupid times) which would mean they'd have to shut 6 hours later when the rest of the shops are just opening.

I don't think Lush have a Boxing day sale anyway though, think they had a few deals on and then the grab-bag on New Years Day- or that was how it was in the stores I visited. The Boxing day deals were nothing compared to the grab-bags where you spend £x instore and got to have £x worth of Xmas goods (eg Xmas gifts, products made for the season or those that had a sell by date which ended in a few months or weeks? after being bought. Also worked out well as the 10% voucher can be used in January but not December.)

    HTH!

    Xmas Saver!
My personal thoughts are that there will be more on-line sales on the christmas weekend, and most stores waiting to the Monday x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • You get free Xmas gifts in Lush if you spend over £20 and my boyfriend waits in the queue for the £100 ones lol. Which is why I wanted to know, hopefully lush will announce it on xmas eve x

Sunday 26th December is not actually Bank Holiday so theoretically shops which would normally be open for 6hrs should maintain this, but I think the likes of Tesco and Asda will be closed. The Monday and Tuesday are the Queen's official BHs so I would expect 9am-6pm openings for most.

Why not email Lush to find out what their plans are?

Some 'sales' will start Dec 24th - but it'll be the same tat at the same price or higher than before.
  • if lush open boxing day which is what they are likely to do as it is a normal rtrading ay then they will do the same as evey year as i 'll be doing the same with lush also ... after my next and boots shopping trip ... xx

..except Next are rumoured not to start their sale on Boxing day this year...
(if they were to have their sale, they'd open at 4am or at the latest 6am and be closed by either 10am or 12pm meaning they were shut when the rest of the stores were opening). I remember reading it in a retail mag I have but can't find a link to it anywhere!
  • Just back from Exeter next and picked up one of their leaflets with opening times on.. boxing day it says closed...bah humbug! I was going to go this year as well......

It says open Monday 27 at 5 am- not a chance of me getting there until a lot later, but thats ok - what will be will be - if that item of clothes has my name on it then it will be there later... ha ha...

well for those that remember most stores started there sales some on xmas eve online after there shops shut, some where xmas day at 00:00 and the rest boxing day when shops opened, but i would have to say last year the sales where not that fantastic and if you look around now alot of firms at the mo are offering good deals right now some upto 70% off and because of that means they want your business now i would be surprised if the sales this year will be that much to write home about the only major benefit you got at the mo is i suspect business is down due to higher unemployment and i also reckon a few may goto the wall after xmas run up as well and not to sound like a vulture reckon there may even be a few reciever clearouts to come after xmas or early jan 2011.

Does anyone know about Next and Boots in Scotland? Obviously we have different trading laws for a Sunday so they could open all day if the wanted to.
