Mortgage to move home with settled default?

Looking for advice on whether I would be able to get a mortgage to move home?
I currently have a mortgage with Santander, I spoke with one of their mortgage advisors who said I would be unlikely to get a mortgage through them, they issued me with the default for £450 when they closed my curret account with them whilst the account account was in the agreed overdraft when I tried to get them to pay bank charges, long story short i have tried to get this removed but have been unsuccessful.
House I am looking to purchase is 215000, I will have 115000 deposit, the default is settled 04/2007, I have had a car loan for the past 34 months and have 2 payments to make, I have never missed or been late with a payment, my income is 30k, I have 3 credit cards, one account that I have had for 10 years never missed a payment or been late balance of £0 I use it every month for 1 tank of fuel and pay it off in full, I have just applied for and got capital one and vanquis to do the same thing with to rebuild my credit file, I have no other loans or debts.
Please advise if there are any lenders that may be willing to give me mortgage?
Many thanks

Likely to be options for you.
Speak to a 'Whole of Market' broker.
May need to go to a lender specialising in 'complex prime' which is basically those who just fail high street lenders. Possibility of high street too.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Majority of overdrafts will come with a repayment on demand clause in the small print. So technically Santander removed their "agreed" consent.0 -
Forgot to mention that my mortgage with Santander has been in place for 11 years and I have neever missed or been late with payments.
Regards the overdraft Santander agreed to monthly payments to clear it, overdraft was at 2.5k when they closed account, paid on time every month with 3 payments left they transferred account to Moorcroft and recorded the defaultdont know if this make any difference, just wish I hadnt pursued them for bank charges it cost me dearly!

There is a lot for some people to answer for. Encouraging people to apply for a refund of charges has left a lot of people with problems.
You could potentially pay thousands extra for a mortgage because of an attempt to recover charges. Probably more than the refund would have been worth.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
