  • Went last year and only really found a few things I thought were real bargains, the usual 501's, Sperry trainers for me and some sketchers for my DD, I also got a nice Pulsar watch very cheap from a proper jewellers, and I like Ecko unltd T-shirts, the designs are much more elaborate than the ones available here.
    Out on blue six..
It's Chips and Jackets, Peas and Trousers.

    - Levi's jeans
    - Allergy medicine - has a different active ingredient than over here and actually WORKS. My DH swears by these, though be careful as they do make you quite drowsy. Also good for knocking yourself out on the airplane, lol. ('Equate' brand from Wal-mart is fine)
    - Pain medicine - Excedrin or Aleve are great brands that I've always found much better than anything here. Just my opinion, though, and store brand is also fine.
    - If you're into brands, Abercrombie & Fitch is much cheaper as other people said above.

The only food I would take is tea bags, as pretty much everything else I'm sure you do without for a couple of weeks. ;)

Also, depends on much you want to spend...I've bought my last 2 laptops from the USA as even with the weaker £, they still work out cheaper.
top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

would like to win a holiday, please!!

Don't forget there are limits on the value of goods that you can bring back into the UK. If you go over you'll be liable for duty fees.

If you get clothes then take the tags off and put through the wash, then they won't count.

I used to live in America so I normally bring back some of the foods my husband misses. If you like baking they have a better selection of things like chocolate chips etc.I bet the customs officer was suprised when he inspected my case the last time I went it was full of mini baking m&m's,nestle mini morsels, sweetened coconut and American magazines. But I bet the poor person who's diamond earring found it's way into my case was more upset. They can search your case when you are not present that's why it's best to have the approved locks on your case,if they do search your case they will put a note in to say they have done so.Have a great time
  • Thanks for all the help.
Do you reckon the sales in America will offer bigger discounts than over here? Are their shops struggling more than ours?
I'm after FitFlop boots & Skechers Shape-ups, they are silly prices over here!
I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!
