freezing potato

Hello, i'm Kelly's mum

I want to freeze cheesey mash.
Does anyone know the best potatoes to use?

    You could freeze any type of potatoes, ive often frozen mashed potato!!!! Not sure which are the best potatoes to use, i use whatever i have for mash (except new potatoes, but they are nice 'crushed' rather than mashed!!!) and it always comes out fine!!!

    I've been freezing potatoes mashed, roasted, boiled, and baked for years, and never had any problem whatever variety they were. But King Edward, Harmony, Nadine and Estima are all good for mashing.

    Ok, I had NO idea you could freeze mashed potato :doh:

    But then I have no microwave, so I guess I can't benefit from that anyway - and our 'freezer' is one shelf in our fridge... hard to be o/s with such a tiny thing...
