Going from self-employed to employed - help!

I have tried calling HMRC for some advice but their phone queue seems to last forever so thought I'd see if anyone here knows the answer first.
My hubby's going from self-employed to employed on Monday. He has put 30% for tax in a seperate account since March when he started (already did the self-assessment and paid for that one month).
Do we have to wait until April for the next self-assessment to pay the tax owed, or can I contact someone and pay it now so we're all square? I'm worried about having it waiting in case anything's been worked out wrong. Also that there's going to be complications with his tax when he goes onto PAYE as he was self-employed all year.

the next SA will be issued in April 20111 and must be filed by 31 Oct 2011 (paper) or 31 Jan 2012 (online). the tax is payable by 31 Jan 2012. On no account pay HMRC before the tax is due. They cannot ask for a return until after 5 April 2011 anyway and if the tax id wrong, it will be too late by then as he is no longer s/e. Draw up the accounts for the final period of trading as soon as you can and then ask a friendly local person who is good with figures to look over it, so you can ensure the tax will be enough. Make sure that your OH completes a P46 with the new employer to say this is his only job and make sure HMRC keeps him on E code for the rest of this tax year.0
