Mortgage In the R. of Ireland

I live in London and would like to buy a holiday home in Ireland and have spoken to the bank of Ireland who are willing to provide me with a mortgage (very few banks in Ireland are providing mortgages). Is it possible to receive a mortgage from British banks for property abroad?
