Music was interesting at the end too.
Sounded like a Panza SS marching tune?
I think it was a Soviet marching tune. The EU is a bit like the old USSR in some ways, only without the Gulag (yet).I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -

or the USA. i'd rather be part or it.Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -

Normally he's a bit of a pillock, but this is rather good. I agree with him.
"It may be true in Belgium, which hasn't had a govt for 6 months....."...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Yes they would. They've got the same problems as Iceland who were not Euro members.
Iceland failed dismally with their monetary policy and banking regulation. Of course it's possible for a sovereign nation to screw up, inside or outside of a currency union. The point is that once Ireland entered the Euro, they didn't even have the option of setting appropriate monetary policy, and the Euro interest rates were far too low for Ireland during their boom.
Now, after the crash, they don't have the same problems as Iceland. Iceland are not trapped in a currency union that prevents them from putting things right. Iceland can move forward building a sustainable economy.0 -
nigel farage is idiotic in that speech btw. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0

I think it's beyond ninky to manage such an intellectual leap. I think she's the junior rebuttal spinmeister at Labour HQ.0 -

Most of the time, the only rebuttal you need is the fact it was a Nigel Farage speech. This time, I agree with him, but I have started wondering if I am wrong.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
