I love love love buffet food so i know which id prefer!
Are people gonna be sitting down or milling about?

I wouldnt wanna be standing about with hot chilli. Think of the spillages... eek!

Another vote for buffet food. I love buffet food especially when I am drinking LOL! I like snacking !

Just a little update. I decided that it wasn't worth making the chilli and spending tomorrow panicking about it all so am doing a buffet which is far easier and much more likely to appeal to everyone. I've got enough to stress about with my mum and dad being in the same room with their respective partners for the first time ever, without having to spend the day slaving over a hot stove!!

Right decision I reckon - I love a good chilli, me, but it's not not appropriate for a party, unless you're having a sit down meal.

If your mum's partner is getting all snobbish over the buffet then ask him to either do you some nice gourmet buffet food or butt out!!
