Update - called HSBC and gone for the lifetime tracker which is 1.99 + BOE rate... therefore at present 2.49. The fees came in at £99 + £30 fund transfer to solicitor... also I opted for the homebuyer survey which cost me £385 (I could have got it cheaper independently however as I needed the valuation which was £175 alone - I just took the hit for the additional £210)

On paper I look a strong candidate - I will be annoyed if they reject me considering the amount of business I give them each year. I have only request a mortgage for £119k - I am puting down a 30% deposit. So fingers crossed!

I wish I still had my nissan micra - it wouldnt have got stuck like I have been today with a bmw 1 series in the snow.. nice mantle piece on the road
