I wasn't very impressed with the Canterbury 'event', I did manage to get a miniature mince pie for free, but not without an icy glare from the shop assistant!

I went to the one in Southampton Above Bar Street last night and wasn't impressed at all. The card I received in the post said:

"product demos, free prize draws, health & beauty advice, free samples...You'll also get a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie".

I got 5 sample sachets of Olay and that was it. I spent over a hour there and saw none of the things they mentioned in their card. I certainly didn't see any wine or mince pie.

However I did manage to get 1300 points (got the 1000 points free after it took about 10 minutes at the till and them trying to add the 1000 points on because it didn't automatically add it on). Plus I did get some great deals on half price perfume.

i was wondering the same i missed it due to DD1 being unwell.

I was under the impression that they only did 1 at each store each year? But im sure i read a post saying that they are repeated at a later date? Can anyone clarify if this is the case?

theres some more on 15th/16th november and at teh end of november but the date hasnt yet been released for that.

yeah, our branch said there would be one on the 14th and the 27th of Nov I think.

I didn't get any samples whatsoever.
There were some promising-looking No.7 gift bags on one counter with a few sachets and things in them, but when I enquired about them, the woman rudely pointed out that I had to spend over £20 on No.7 to have one - which certainly did not seem like much of a freebie to me.

I won't bother going to any more!

Is it me or are they earlier this year? Also the christmas catalogue seems to be out earlier this year too?
