these have been mentioned to you multiple times for months
you wait till the snows due before even thinking about buying them?
Im sure we will need another 5 threads about these just to check
Come on, its s*ds law that having not purchased them we get weather like this!!! If we had purchased them it would be mild!! How often do we experience weather like this??
I might try an ex-army shop if I can get out!!!
What happens if you get to a spot where it is clear, do you have to take them off!! (slippery on clear pavement??)0 -

it depends
if like me you can get out and about under your own steam.maybe not
if you constantly go on about not leaving your house for months unaided then perhaps yes0 -
It is a real issue whilst the dicey pavements exist!!!
Wednesday, only 15 people showed up out of a usual 40+ @ my class. Most of the 15 were phased by the icy pavements!!!!
Yaktrax may not be the absolute solution as they don't appear to work on black ice and they have to bed in @ 50% of the coils, so there maybe still an issue on frosty paths. (Q+A on Yaktrax website)
Qvc demonstrate them on blocks of ice.
What the heck did we do years ago???0 -

Years ago we would enjoy the snow. But saying that i remember the gritters being out in force. But back then i spose there was more money to spend. Country is in recession, and most of us are on our behinds coz of the ice! go figure! lol.:T Wins: Annual Taste London Membership * Fabulous Mag comp Vie spray on tights * Rimmel Pro nail Varnish * Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara * Walking with dinosaurs family of 4 pass at Wembley Arena * Baptiste 3 trial size dry shampoo and mini brush :T

I am lucky today/yesterday I had a Knight in Shining Armour who permitted me to grasp their sleeve!!
Otherwise I would have been stranded!!
I don't have good balance so maybe that's an issue. My Knight walked along in trainers and even me tugging @ their sleeve they stayed upright!!
Flamming crazy in these modern times that we can't have at least one feasible route to the main road. There are lots of elderly around (I'm heading that way!) - how are they suppose to get around??
Yak Trax are like gold dust and perhaps won't get delivered immediately as bad roads even if could get one!!0 -
These are even better than Yaktrax but also more than twice the price:

Similar product is these (ice grippers) from amazon:

Yaktrax seem to be sold out at many of the online shops?

The above links to qvc and I've had this brand for about 2 years now and wouldn't step out into snow without them - they are absolutely brilliant. I'm not a particular QVC fan but in my opinion this item is worth visiting their site for.0 -
Picked up a pair of the WinterTrax from Sports Direct today - £9.00 so quite a bargain. Initially I was told they didn't have them but I persevered and finally found them hanging on the wall behind the cash desk. Can't see them being there long at this price.0

These are not bad for £8 delivered

As a "larger-calved" woman myself, I would agree that this can be a problem when shopping for trendier, patterned wellies - or even Hunters. However, I can recommend standard green Dunlop wellies (nothing fancy) - they have wider calves and fit just fine.tinktinktinkerbell wrote: »they go over any shoe/boot apparently
