I didn't think you were allowed to cash in your pension if you'd been paying into it longer than two years.
Unless of course your company will let you take early retirement.
However, there are people around who know far more about this than me. I'm sure they'll be along shortly.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

You can'tcash it in but you should be covered by the Pensions Protection Fund.

If you're really concerned stop paying into the pension and put the money into an investment ISA instead (if you're a basic rate taxpayer), also contracting back into S2P if your scheme is currently contracted out.Trying to keep it simple...0 -
Also, just because the company closes, doenst mean the pension has any problems.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

The company must produce an Actuarial valuation of the final salary pension and how well funded it is every 3 years. You are entitled to ask for a copy of the latest one.
Thanks
JonathonI have worked for 5 years as a Pension Administrator and then a further year in a non-administrator pension role. I am not (and never have been) an adviser. Do not take anything I say as advice, it is information given on the best of my knowledge.0
