Hello - I want to get my 8 year old an mp3 player for christmas. I had more or less decided to go for a sansa clip+ due to the price and reviews, but I have just confused myself by looking at the sansa fuze. The benefit of the fuze is that you can also put video onto it, which I think she would like.
However, I have more or less got the idea of how to download music, but how do you get videos? I'm not thinking of full length films - she likes the music videos - either pop videos or the ones for kids eg. the horrible histories songs. Do you buy these in the same way that you buy music? Sorry if its really obvious, but I don't know, and I don't want to spend extra on something that shows video if its going to be either a pain or expensive to get the videos onto the player.
Thank you for any advice.

You cannot download videos onto an MP3 player. An MP3 player only plays audio tracks. To play video tracks you need an MP4 player. Make sure it specifies this (should be in the stats) and to transfer them it should be the same as with an MP3 player, either click and drag or select to transfer via your media player. The computer you use this on will also need to be able to transfer MP4 tracks.

    Hello,

The Sansa Fuze does do MP3 and video, but the video format it uses is a little unusual so I don't think you'd find music videos available for it in the correct format.

Instead you'd have to obtain them from somewhere else (eg iTunes or download from another video website) and then convert them yourself to get them into the format required for the Fuze which is specified here: http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/29 using the Sansa Media converting software it mentions. Or alternatively you could use a free video converter such as SUPER from eRightsoft which can also convert to the correct format.

I used "Any Video Converter" to convert Itunes mp4 video to AVI to view them on a standard mp4 player.

It is a bit hit n miss cos you don't always get to see what video file types your mp4 will play before you buy.
