PPI refund from Co-operative Bank, any success?

Hi,

Has anyone here had any joy with gettting a PPI policy refunded from the Co-Op bank? (PPI through Norwich Union.)

I'm currently trying to get my PPI on my loan cancelled, (after gaining some excellent advice from the thread on here) for 3 reasons:

- I took the loan out last November, and was signed off sick from July - October this year. Although I didn't want the PPI (see below) as I had it I obviously wanted to make a claim. The Co-Op gave me a phone number for Norwich Union, I phoned them twice but had not received any forms by last week. I phoned the Co-Op again last week and they assured me the forms have been re-sent, however I have still not received them.
So effectively, I pay for PPI but it is impossible to claim because the paperwork never materialises - is this a breach of contract on their part? I don't see the point in paying for the policy any longer if I can't claim on it when I need to.

Whilst searching for clarification as to whether they would allow me to continue paying my loan minus the cost of the PPI, I found that the following points are also relevant:

- When I took the loan out, I was told that when the paperwork came, I could choose not to tick the 'with PPI' option. I did this; a few days later I recevied the form back with a letter stating that I had not ticked the 'with PPI' option and they would not therefore be able to trasfer the monies until I had done so. Unfortunately I can't find the letter, but I do remember speaking to a CSA who confirmed this (and did not offer me the option to re-quote) and have included the date and time of the call on my compaint letter.

- When I took out the loan, I had not been with the same employer for 6 months and told the CSA exactly that; however I have just found that this is a condition of claiming on the PPI policy.

I have spoken to a member of staff today, who has told me that they cannot simply cancel PPI, and to put my complaint in writing directly to her. She kept trying to trip me up, asking me why I would make a claim if I hadn't wanted the PPI in the first place...um well because if I'm paying for it and a circumstance in which I could claim arises, surely I should claim - that's the whole point of PPI I thought, whether I was mis-sold it or not. I can't claim now anyway as I have returned to work.

I would be very grateful if anyone has any further advice - do the above points make sense?
