Making a profit on the postage is bang out of order...0 -

why? buyers factor it in when they buy it so they will only buy the item on the value they expect to pay for it inc postage!

I have to say, I'm inclined to agree. A couple of quid here or there when you've genuinely overestimated the postage, I can agree with (although still not great, it does happen) but £103 is a ton of money, and is technically fee avoidance.
I know, I've heard all the arguments about FVF etc, but I still don't think it's right that you are telling the buyer that it's x for postage when it's actually y (and you know that you've put incorrect postage) - that's lying! Not exactly condusive to being an MSEr is it? (Unless, I suppose, your the seller). Proud DFW Nerd 135 :cool:Sealed Pot Challenge - 0190 -

Actually the rule of thumb is to also factor in your own time of listing, packing and taking to the post office.
Personally, I rate my time at 7.00 per hour, which is what Id accept for a temp job, no less. Whether I pass this onto my buyers, not in its entirety, but an extra 20p here and there for my trouble is par for the course. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most?
