Anyone had same problem with Kellogs coupons?

Has anyone had an experience similar to my sister with a Kellogs free box of cereal coupon?

My sister printed off a coupon and took it to her local Co-op store, to use in order to get a free box of cereal but was refused.

The checkout operator told her that the coupon had been photocopied and couldn't be accepted, even though 20 mins before, she had printed off the coupon at home from her computer.

With the coupon being classed as 'photocopied' she had to buy the cereal and some chocolate to cover for the £2.89 value of the coupon.

I had one home-printed voucher refused by my local Tesco but since then I've started to print them on thin photo paper, so they look nice and glossy. I've not had one refused since. Worth a try.

Why did she have to buy the cereal and chocolate?

This is a very common problem and stores are quite within their rights to refuse a coupon, I don't bother with them anymore for this very reason.

I had a real job with Tesco and a voucher from kelloggs. They did eventually let me use it but this was after checking with the manager (which took ages). I wont bother next time

Are you sure it's worth it by the time you take into account the cost of the paper and ink?

Well, probably not for a 20 pence off saving, but for things like the current free Air Wick candles, or 50 pence off Velvet t-rolls, it's definitely worth it.

Local Tescos here are almost giving Photo Paper away with at least 75% off :j
