Dont know much about cameras but seems really cheap, I know you will have to buy a lens, but hey!

This is a 35mm film camera, not a digital. The Empiredirect description seems a bit misleading. It does describe it as a 35mm camera but it also says it has a "6.5 Megapixel CCD resolution" which gives the impression that its a digital camera.

Good price for a conventional SLR though.

    35mm Camera
    Autofocus & Manual Focus
Lens Mount Canon EF mount (electronic signal transfer system)
    Max Shutter Speeds 1/2000 sec.
    Min Shutter Speeds 30 sec
    LCD Size 1.8"
    6.5 Megapixel CCDResolution

It says there is a 1.8" LCD. Its also the Body only so you would have to find and buy a lens to go with it.

debs626 their description is guaranteed to be an error.

The camera is described as old in 2000 here http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/camera/canon-eos-500n/reviews/ and it doesn't even have a motor drive. Something most people will expect a 35mm camera to have.

It may have an LCD panel but it won't act as a viewfinder and it won't be 1.8", it will just be a strip that tells you the shutter speed etc etc.

From what I can tell a lense will cost at least £100 I think.

The Canon EOS film SLRs have a small LCD on the top plate showing the frame counter and various other bits&bobs. Viewfinders are optical 'through the lens' using a mirror and prism.

As Vendee said - it's a film camera body with misleading description... (although a VERY good buy if you need a spare film body for your Canon kit).

If you've bought EF lenses (and not EF-S) for your Canon digital SLR, then you'll be able to use those lenses with this to play around with film too :)
