  • Ames I hope you get it all sorted and you will make the right choice.

My heating has only come on four times in the past month, I'm lucky as I live in an apartment building; hte middle flat with a little old lady beneath me who has her heating on constantly in the winter. When we had the snow at the start of the year, I checked on her and told her to stay in and keep nice and warm! I.e crank up your heating!!

    Man it's dark outside!

Claire, I'm freezing, but my place doesn't have central heating. It's a storage heating unit which then uses a fan to blow the warm air through the flat. but it doesn't reach the bedroom, and it only takes the chill off the living room. So apart from I keep forgetting to turn it on the night before, it's about as much use as a chocolate fireguard anyway. I am looking forward to getting the electric radiator tomorrow though! Looking at the BBC weather pages this is day two of it going below zero, which explains why I'm hibernating in bed most of the time!
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

    I'll try again...

There's one crappy heater in the front room which looks useless. The fan heater works more efficiently and will be moved to the bedroom later to warm it up. It's pretty cool but me and Kai snuggle up in the evening so it's not so bad, and we have blankets and hoodies to keep warm in.

  • No snow here but very cold, really horrible day at work and way too many people in so not able to view MSE a lot during the day, sometimes it just gets me through the day reading the daily chat and the what are you doing today thread.

our heating is on low dug out a big cardie to snuggle instead of turning up the heating. that plus dog sleeping beside me will keep me toastie warm.

littlesue - whereabouts are you? I'm hoping we don't get any, this time around - causes too much disruption! I'm in the south west so would imagine we would be one of the last places to get it.

I live in northumberland and they been warning us for days. Its just been a few flurry's during the day but my husband had a doctors appointment at 4.30, there was nothing then and about 20 minutes later it just started coming down heavy. Its lying quite thick now.
Feel sorry for the men digging up the road just round the corner from here, i know that some people had lost some power so they must be still trying to mend it.
