phone barclaycard and ask them to lower your interest, blag them you are going elsewhere, and elsewhere has offered you 0% for 9 months- if this one comes off, you will save loads unless you have 0% alreadY? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? No 0% on any loans at all. Will just plough onwards I think. 12 months is not such a long time but I have been paying off over 600 a month for so long now!!! Just fed up I think....THE LONG AND THE SLOW ROAD SEEM TO APPLY TO DEBTS AND DIETS... THE TWO THINGS I WANT TO SEE THE BACK OF...:D0

12 months is not long at all- just think of the freedom! I don't think you need a loan, just a little encouragement from us fellow DFWers. Keep going, you've done so well and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel!Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

Well folks! I have some excellent news. I thought long and hard about this issue of clearing my debts, I have a savings plan that I faithfully paid into despite my debt ridden predicament and the statement arrived!! I have more than enough there to clear all of my outstanding unsecured debt. I decided that I will cash it in and clear my debts. I will have a small some left to begin saving again in earnest.
I have deliberated long and hard about the savings v. debt thing and although it was comforting to know I had this nest egg there it will be more comforting to know that my next nestegg will be totally unemcumbered.
So, in about 7-10 days time I will be unsecured debt free.
Now to tackle that pesky mortgage, I'll have to pop into the mortgage free board to pick up some tips there.
Thanks to those who responded to my dilemma. It was a great help.    :beer:THE LONG AND THE SLOW ROAD SEEM TO APPLY TO DEBTS AND DIETS... THE TWO THINGS I WANT TO SEE THE BACK OF...:D0
