Hello everyone,
I'm posting today after receiving my credit card statement which has JUST tipped over to £4,000. It always looked so much less as £3,***. I am planning to go back to university for a year next year and as i see it I have 9 months to clear my credit card. I am about to start a new job (giving up a previous career in recruitment where I was supposed to earn commission however current climate meant that I continued spending as though I would land a big bonus - but unfortunately it hasn't come). Salary level will be £18,000. I bought a new car last year which costs me £200 pm in personal loan, and my credit card repayment is currently £100 pm. I am set up to pay the minimum repayment but need to be overpaying considerable to get anywhere near the debt. Other big expenses include £325 in rent pm. Other than that i have spoken to npower today and reduced my gas and electric by £130 pa, and have asked my credit card provider for a better rate which they gave me. I haven't been able to secure a 0% balance transfer though I'm completely flumoxed as to why as I've looked at my credit report and there's no problem. Other than that - I'd love to hear your thoughts on whether this £4000 can disappear in 9 months - and how this can be done. All suggestions welcome - I can't see a lot of room for saving in my life but would really love to hear any suggestions.
Thanks in advance,
Jenni
