Good Laptop for my Mum-In-Law!!

hello.

i am looking for a good priced Laptop. here's what i am looking for, bearing in mind i know nothing about laptops. if anyone can help, please post your suggestions/links. thank you.

will be used for:

Internet (wireless not required)
4 usb (min)
512mb (is that enough?)
to store and print photo's
cd/dvd burner.
be able to play very basic games (prob only like the standard windows stuff)
Windows XP (on disc)

while i'm here. i have Windows XP Home. i understand it cant be used on other computers?

if i was to update my PC, can i use it on that, being the owner of the Licence etc?

if not is it effectively useless unless i keep the old PC?

thank you.

if it's am oem you can update your PC soo many times, graphics card ,memory and hard drive are fine but a motherboard change will cause it to fail and a call to microsoft will need to be placed and hope for a sympathetic Indian.
I think a retail xp you can transfer it to other PC's as long as you delete the old one.

"4 usb" is asking a lot. seems unnecessary in a laptop to me.

It may be worth checking your local Tesco's as some of them had Acer laptops in for £299.

It even has your 4 usb ports! Not sure about xp being on disk though.

I recently bought an Acer and got a 3 year extended warranty with accidental damage for little more than £80 including delivery from here:

Although this one doesn't have a dvd burner or 512mb ram, so be aware of having to upgrade if you really need these things. Also, this laptop doesn't show up on the normal search page on the Comet webste - only through this link. Does that mean they have sold out. or is it a fault?
