Not sure of best way to wrap xmas pressies - please help!

There are two presents which i'm not sure of the best way to pack.

The first is an assortment of TTTE trains, a rucksack and some stickers. I'm not sure whether it's best to put everything (unwrapped) into the rucksack and then wrap up the rucksack or whether to wrap up everything, place in rucksack and then wrap rucksack or to wrap up everthing in seperate little parcels. It's my 2y/o DS's main present.

The second is a pre-loved baby's electronic playhouse made by leapfrog (couldn't manage to find any pics of it) which is out of its box. It's quite an abstract shape and i cannot think of the best way of wrapping it up. I can't even find a box of suitable size to put it into. It's 5m/o DD's main present so i want it to look nice when wrapped up.

If anyone can find me links or share their ideas on how to wrap up either of the above presents i'd be very grateful.

I agree about wrapping them all separate - that's the best bit, watching kids unwrap their pressies!

As for the "big" item, I have bought my grandson a "largish" kitchen for Christmas and I will be putting it together and having a go at wrapping that.
I bought a really large roll of paper from Wilcos and I am going to rough wrap it (any sticky out bits) with bubble wrap and then wrap with the Christmas paper.

It doesn't matter if it looks a bit messy as I think it will be more exciting then in the box.:rotfl:
  • Thanks for your replies - i have decided to wrap up all my sons presents individually and i have found a large enough gift bag to fit in my daughters house. i'm going to add a bit of shredded paper to the bag too so that it'll be more exciting for her to open.

  • My mum always wrapped awkward prezzies in some cheap fabric (99p a meter or roll end) which she then used as a tablecloth, before donating to charity or patchworking with!
It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

  • For your 2 year old - I'd go for maximum unwrapping (i.e. wrap rucksack, with all other wrapped bits inside like 'extra' pressies)

For your 5 month old - she'll not notice so I'd just go with whatever is easiest...(preferable with some nice shiny paper for her play with too!)
