Credit files - repairing help needed please

Hi all :)
I have finally received my credit files back after sending all creditors letters (templates off Fermie, Thank you!) however there are 3 accounts that have NOT been corrected on my files.

1. Santander - The bank acc. I surrended at the time of my B/R.(which was in credit at the time-it appears that the balance is charges??? they wrote back and told me to write to the Credit Reference Agencies?? for them to amend my files??)

2. Vanquis Bank ( 2 accounts)

3. And a joint account held with my ex-husband (a notice of correction was put on my file when he did one in 2002!!)
These are ALL showing current balances:eek: and they were all included in my B/R??

Now my problem/worry is where do I go from here to get these balances off/cleared/satisfied/partial satisfied?? Is there another letter to send. I have followed Fermies letters and waited the correct length of time to apply for my files (for the creditors to update information) the majority have amended my files but these above have not!

Sorry if this is long winded but I was discharged in Nov 09 and this is dragging on now, I just want my credit files to be cleaned up.

Thank you
Sugar x :(

Would be worth sending a stern follow-up letter.

I have one somewhere that did the trick for me. ;)

Gotta go for now, but I'll be back later.

OK. This is the basic cut down version of a letter.
    FINAL REMINDER.

NOTICE - LETTER BEFORE ACTION – BREACH OF THE DATA PROTECTION ACT BY CREDITOR.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I refer to my letter dated xx/xx/20xx and received at the registered address of your Data Controller on xx/xx20xx. Proof of your receipt of this is attached.

In my letter I required you to correct the information on my Credit Reference Files in accordance with the Data Protection Act and the guidance issued by the Information Commissioner.

I was declared bankrupt on xx/xx/20xx and subsequently discharged on xx/xx/20xx, and an account held with CREDITOR at the time was covered by this bankruptcy.

    Namely:

    Details of account(s)

For your convenience I also included with my initial letter:

    List of documents you included.

    I required that you:

    - Mark these accounts in some way to indicate that these accounts are settled or satisfied.

    - Amend the default entry to be no later than <Date if your bankruptcy>, in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

You had 28 days to correct this information.

You have so far failed to comply with this request and your obligations under the Data Protection Act.

Therefore I wish to remind you of your obligations and give you a final chance to correct the information.

You have 28 days from receipt of this letter to do so.

Should you fail to make the corrections required, further action will be taken.

I would appreciate your due diligence in this matter.

    Yours faithfully

For Santander, you may wish to add something like:

"I notice in your last correspondence that you have attempted to avoid your responsibility to correct this information under the Data Protection Act by claiming that it is the responsibility of the Credit Reference Agencies. This will not be tolerated."

Obviously, those go by post recorded deliverly as before.

As well as sending by mail, you may wish to send some copies via email as well. If you can find email addresses for the company customer complaints/managing director/other such people. Having the complaint come from additional directions sometimes concentrates their minds. ;)

Have I told you lately that I love you .......oooooooo...singing!!

Thanks a lot for that I am going to get letter writing tonight after work, what annoys me about Santander is they knew about my B/R, and I have spoke numerous times on the telephone to them. My account was in credit (as me wages were paid into there!!) and the balance is (must be) charges....:eek:I had to cut up my cards and send to my O/R as directed to by my O/R. I never used the account again as I was allowed to use the newly opened Co-Op Cashminder account.
Anyway this credit file clean up is stressing me out at the mo!!
I have found information from 1995 and 1996 still on one report (Accounts that were my ex's - I have not received any letters/notification since 2000??) So I assume that I will have to get this declared statute Barred?? Omg.....now I am baffling myself....grrrrrr its not easy this clean up malarky:cool: or is it me being thick :o
    Anyhoo Fermie thanks again :D
